New Energy Audit Grant Scheme

The Large Electricity Users Audit Grant scheme has now ceased. However, the Energy Audit Grant scheme (which includes all energy types, fleet and design audits) remains to provide funding for the identification of energy savings opportunities.

Feedback from auditors and businesses like yours have identified opportunities to improve the grant scheme. The following changes have been made to the scheme to encourage increased awareness and uptake of energy efficiency opportunities:

· Funding for up to 50% of the cost of an energy audit to a maximum of $50,000

· Up to 100% of the cost of a scoping study to a maximum $10,000

· Requirement to identify the potential for demand response and co-generation opportunities.

· Minimum energy spend of $100,000 per annum to be eligible for grant funding

· Design audits available for organisations with a building area over 1000m2

Full details about the changes are included in the attached Energy Audit Grants information sheet and application form or via www.emprove.org.nz/over500/grant.asp

Grants are available for any business wishing to improve their energy consumption with energy audits, adopting renewable energy initiatives and/or utilizing advances in technology.
